About the event
As more and more taxpayers move into their retirement years; the tax professional is faced with answering many questions regarding Social Security and Medicare. Deciding when and how to claim Social Security benefits is one of the most important decisions that retirees will ever make. As a trusted advisor, we need to understand how both government programs work, how the programs tie into the client's individual tax return and what we can do to help our clients optimize their options for their tax and retirement planning.
Learning Objectives
1. Understanding the basics of Social Security and how it is taxed.
2. Know the consequences of collecting Social Security too early; and the benefits of waiting until full retirement age or beyond.
3. Understanding the basics of Medicare and the impact it will have on your Health Savings Account.
